On Aug. 13, 1982, the coming-of-age comedy “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” is released in theaters. Written by Cameron Crowe and directed by Amy Heckerling, the movie chronicles a year in the life of several high schoolers. The iconic 80s movie launched the careers of Sean Penn, Nicholas Cage, Forest Whitaker and several others. In 2005, the movie was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” |
