On Aug. 12, 1990, fossil hunters discover the 65 million-year-old skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex near Faith, South Dakota. The skeleton was 90% complete and well-preserved, which offered scientists many new insights into how the giant carnivores lived. The 42 foot-long skeleton, named Sue after Susan Hendrickson, the fossil hunter who found it, is on display at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. |
