On Feb. 5, 1934, baseball legend Henry (Hank) Louis Aaron Jr. is born in Mobile, Ala. Aaron, who held the Major League Baseball record for home runs, started his professional playing career in 1952 in the Negro League. He entered the majors in 1954 with the Milwaukee Braves, which later became the Atlanta Braves. Aaron’s ended his career in 1976 with a total of 755 homers. His record stood until 2007. Aaron was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. |
