On October 2, 1985, actor Rock Hudson, 59, succumbs to AIDS. He was the first celebrity known to die of the disease, and his death marked a turning point in how the disease was viewed. Although Hudson was considered to be the quintessential “tall, dark and handsome” leading man, his illness eventually revealed that he was homosexual. Some of Hudson’s more well-known films include “Magnificent Obsession,” “All That Heaven Allows” and “Giant.” |
