More than a million new immigrants arrive in the United States each year, and the biggest share of these newcomers comes from India. In 2010, Asian immigrants began to overtake the number of Hispanic immigrants arriving in the U.S. annually. The number of people arriving from Latin America declined sharply after the start of the Great Recession in early 2008.

On June 12, 1987, President Ronald Reagan gives his famous “tear down this wall” speech near the Berlin Wall in West Germany. In the speech, Reagan urged Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev to tear down the wall dividing Berlin. The wall was build in 1961 as a way to keep East German citizens from escaping to the West. In November of 1989, East Germans and West Germans tore the wall down themselves as the Communist regime began to lose its grip on power in the failed state. On October 3, 1990, Germany was reunified.

Vietnam has imposed anti-dumping tariffs on certain goods from China that were getting around tariffs levied by the United States in its trade dispute with Beijing. The Southeast Asian country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade decided after a 5-month review to levy a temporary anti-dumping tax of 2.46% to 35.58% on several Chinese-origin aluminum products, effective June 5.

A massive demonstration outside the headquarters of Hong Kong’s government turned violent Wednesday as police clashed with protesters who oppose a controversial  extradition bill. Hospital authorities say at least 72 people were injured.

VIDEO: The coal industry in West Virginia once played a major role in the state’s economy. But as mines closed, miners and many others affected by industry shutdowns found themselves unemployed. Now, some are looking to make extra money and finding a sweet alternative for their livelihood: harvesting honeybees.
