On Jan 22, 1998, Theodore J. Kaczynski, also known as the “Unabomber,” pleads guilty to federal charges that he was behind a 17-year mailbomb campaign. Kaczynski sent most of the bombs to universities and also airlines. Law enforcement finally caught up with him in 1995 after The Washington Post published a 35,000-word anti-technology “manifesto,” and Kaczynski’s brother recognized the writing style.
