On Jan. 17, 1950, robbers steal more than $2 million from the Brink’s Armored Car depot in Boston, Mass. The leader of the 11 men involved was Anthony “Fats” Pino, a career thief. The robbers, who wore Brinks uniforms and rubber Halloween masks, remained free until January of 1956, days before the statute of limitations expired. Called the “Great Brink’s Robbery,” this was the largest heist in U.S. history at the time. |
