On July 9, 1850, the 12th president of the United States, Zachary Taylor, dies after just 16 months on the job. He falls ill with an unknown digestive ailment after eating raw fruit and iced milk. Taylor is succeeded by Vice President Millard Fillmore. Today, historians and medical experts continue to speculate on what killed the military war hero of the Mexican-American conflict. Should the US should block Chinese investment in American companies that work in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and other key technology? In fact, many more Africans have reason to feel invested in the French team. Mbappe is one of 15 players on the French squad who were either born in Africa or can trace their roots back to the continent.
