VOA INTERVIEWS PRESIDENT TRUMP: North Korea leader Kim Jong Un is a great personality, funny, smart, and a great negotiator who loves his people, according to President Trump, who spoke to VOA contributor Greta Van Susteren after summit talks with Kim in Singapore. Trump tells VOA this is the start of ‘an amazing deal’ that includes denuking North Korea.

On June 12, 1776, Virginia’s fifth Revolutionary Convention adopts George Mason’s declaration of rights, giving men the equal right to life, liberty and property. The declaration does not apply to women or enslaved people. Virginia’s Declaration of Rights later becomes the basis for the Bill of Rights in the US Constitution. US military drills with South Korea will be suspended. The unexpected announcement came after the historic encounter between President Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un ended in Singapore Tuesday. VOA’s team in Seoul spoke with everyday South Koreans who have mixed feelings about the outcome of the summit, while world leaders are mostly voicing approval of the Trump-Kim agreement, which has produced high hopes but few details.
