Maryland’s Eastern Shore is known for its crabs, but fewer foreign worker visas could mean less crab meat in the months ahead. Since the 1980s, the crab houses have hired temporary foreign workers, mostly from Mexico, to extract meat from the crabs’ hard shells. But tighter restrictions left many businesses unable to obtain the temporary seasonal labor they need.
