Saying that Iran won’t be prevented from building a nuclear bomb “under the decaying and rotten structure” of the Iran nuclear deal struck less than two years ago, President Trump announced the U.S. is leaving the pact and will re-impose sanctions on Tehran.

On May 8, 1967, boxer Muhammad Ali is indicted for refusing to be inducted into military service during the Vietnam War.  Ali cited Islam – which he’d converted to three years prior – and racial injustice in the U.S among the reasons he wouldn’t serve.  He is convicted and sentenced to five years in prison, but the conviction is overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1971.

A proposal to ask respondents if they’re citizens during the upcoming U.S. census has some worried one of the darker episodes in U.S. history could repeat itself: During World War II, the U.S. secretly used data from the 1940 census to help round up thousands of Japanese Americans and held them in internment camps.

Trade negotiations between China and the United States continue early next week in Washington. But after the first round, the differences between the two sides are huge. Are the disputes so fundamental and so big that an escalation of tariffs is unavoidable?
