Not everyone on the South Side of Chicago is sold on having the Obama Presidential Center in the neighborhood. The 21-acre campus in Jackson Park would include a variety of spaces for community use surrounding a large tower, which would house the Obama Presidential Museum. But 200 professors at the University of Chicago, where Obama once worked, have denounced the project’s location. And at least one of them, who considers himself an Obama friend, says the former president is ‘tone deaf’ on the subject. |
