When the Taliban starts publishing an English-language magazine for women, you know its not going to contain the usual features about news, pop culture, fashion, decor or health and beauty. Named after a young female fighter during the time of the Prophet Muhammad, The Way of Khaula magazine covers subjects like the benefits of early-age marriage and how to use grenades.

On This Day in American History
On August 10, 1846, the Smithsonian Institution is created after a little-known English scientist, James Smithson, bequeaths his entire estate to the United States of America, a country he’d never visited. Today, the Smithsonian includes 19 museums and galleries, nine research facilities, and the national zoo.

So much for a clean break. The Pacific island is located about 3,400 kilometers from Pyongyang, which prompted us to ask the governor how confident he is in the ability of the US government to protect the island from attack.

VIDEO: Uganda’s parliament has more than 150 female legislators, many of whom are juggling motherhood along with their professional roles. To help the female MPs meet all of their responsibilities — while also promoting breastfeeding, which is recommended by the World Health Organization — there’s a free, on-site day care center for female legislators and their staff.

America is a big place, but that doesn’t stop some people from pursuing their goal of visiting all 50 US states. There’s even an exclusive club for people who’ve run marathons in every state in the union. So what drives these 50-staters?
