Teen refugees headed to the US to live with American foster families are in limbo due to President Trump’s travel ban. The stranded group includes several dozen refugee children under 18 who have no close family to care for them. A court ruling last night could bring them closer to boarding a US-bound plane, but their foster parents still have no clue when, or even if, the children will be able to come to America.

On July 14, 1881, the notorious Old West outlaw known as Billy the Kid is shot to death in New Mexico by Sheriff Pat Garrett. Indian troops stopped a Chinese road project in a disputed plateau where Bhutan, China and India all meet. Bhutan is India’s closest ally in South Asia, but Beijing apparently wants in on that action.

Ethiopians scrambling to leave Saudi Arabia are having trouble getting a flight home. The kingdom is giving undocumented foreigners in the country a chance to leave without incurring a penalty. Government officials believe about 400,000 Ethiopians are illegally in the country, mostly employed as domestic workers, with few legal rights, who endure widespread abuse.

One of the world’s largest Muslim groups is taking aim at Islamic State with a few well-placed kicks and punches. Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), widely seen as Indonesia’s leading moderate Muslim organization, has a martial arts wing. In response to IS threats against targets in the country, NU’s warriors have stepped up their activities across Indonesia, but armed combat isn’t their goal.
