On This Day in American History
On June 8, 1968, James Earl Ray is arrested in London, England, and charged with the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Four days earlier, the civil rights leader was fatally wounded by a sniper’s bullet as he stood on a balcony outside his second-story motel room in Memphis.
