The answer is corn. That’s what changed President Donald Trump’s mind about saving the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), just hours after saying the US was pulling out of the treaty. Mexico is the second largest consumer of American-grown corn. So when Mexicans threatened to boycott US corn if Trump ditched NAFTA, American farmers got worried.
