Much of the 2020 field of Democrats would like to rejoin the Iran nuclear agreement that the United States withdrew from under President Donald Trump.

Under the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and six world powers, Tehran agreed to not enrich uranium and allow nuclear inspectors into the country in return for sanctions relief. Following the election of U.S. President Donald Trump, the United States pulled out of the deal in 2018. The Democratic candidates running for U.S. president in 2020 largely want to rejoin the deal, with some arguing that its terms should be renegotiated first.
